Groot Handelsgebouw – Live painting
Interactive art event with ping pong tables
Groot Handelsgebouw is a monumental building that facilitates office space to more than 450 companies. Within these office spaces, art and design are crucial for the look and feel of the building. Groot Handelsgebouw wanted to extend their art portfolio and hosted an interactive art event with 20 participants. I was invited to paint my very own ping pong table at the live event.
Initiative by Groot Handelsgebouw and Rewriters Rotterdam
The illustration stems from the dynamics of ‘work & play’, as we’re painting these tables in an office setting. This is represented through balancing objects and small hints to ping pong as well.
The ping pong tables were auctioned in May 2022 and raised nearly € 7,000 for humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.
